Choosing Your WordPress Installation Method on BitReveal
When setting up WordPress on BitReveal, you have two installation options. Understanding the differences between them will help you choose the one that best fits your needs and experience level.
Option 1: Default WordPress Installation (Clean Install)
This option gives you a fresh WordPress installation without any pre-installed plugins or themes.
Who should choose this:
- You already have experience with WordPress
- You own or plan to purchase a specific theme editor (like Elementor, Divi, Breakdance, or Bricks)
- You know exactly which plugins you want to use
- You prefer starting with a clean setup and adding only what you need
What you'll get:
- A standard WordPress installation
- Complete control over which plugins and themes to add
- No unnecessary features that you might not use
Keep in mind:
- You'll need to install a theme and editor separately
- Most professional theme editors require a paid license
Option 2: WordPress with Pre-installed Package
This installation comes with PopularFX theme and Pagelayer editor, plus several professional plugins already set up.
Who should choose this:
- You're new to WordPress
- You don't have a preferred theme editor yet
- You want to save money on premium plugins
- You prefer having helpful tools ready from the start
What you'll get:
- PopularFX theme with hundreds of theme options to choose from during installation
- Pagelayer editor for designing your pages (free alternative to paid editors)
- Professional plugins included:
Backuply - Creates automatic backups of your website
SiteSEO - Helps optimize your site for search engines
SoftWP AI - AI assistant for content writing
SpeedyCache - Improves your website loading speed
GoSMTP - Ensures reliable email delivery from your site
Keep in mind:
- Your WordPress dashboard will have more options initially, which might feel overwhelming
- You can skip installing any of these plugins during setup
- You can uninstall any plugin later if you don't need it
Making Your Decision
Both options will give you a fully functional WordPress website. The main difference is whether you start with a clean slate (Option 1) or with helpful tools already installed (Option 2). There's no wrong choice - it simply depends on your preferences and requirements.
If you're unsure, Option 2 might be the safer choice since you can always remove plugins you don't need, but you can't get the free premium plugins from Option 1 later without purchasing them separately.
