Email on Your Hosting: What It's For and Its Limits
Every hosting plan includes email accounts on your own domain, such as you@yourdomain.com. They are made for everyday email, and for that the limits are more than enough.
What hosting email is for
- Personal and business email with your customers and partners
- Support replies
- Emails your website sends: contact forms, orders, password resets and notifications
The limits
- Each plan has a sending limit per account, shown on its plan page.
- One email can go to at most 150 recipients.
- Emails over the limit are not sent until the limit resets, so please plan bigger mailings with a mailing service (see below).
Newsletters and email marketing: please use a mailing service
Please don't send newsletters, mailing lists, promotions or autoresponder series from your hosting email. Use an email marketing service such as Mailchimp, Mailjet, Brevo or MailerLite instead. Most of them have a free plan to start with.
Why a mailing service is better for you:
- Your emails reach the inbox. These services are built for bulk email and look after their sending reputation, so fewer of your emails end up in spam.
- Unsubscribes and bounces are handled for you, as the law requires in many countries (for example CAN-SPAM in the USA and GDPR in Europe).
- You see what works: opens, clicks and unsubscribes for every mailing.
- Your normal email keeps working. Bulk email from a shared server can get the server listed as a spam source. That would stop email for you and for every other customer, so our Fair Usage Policy does not allow bulk or unsolicited email from hosting accounts.
Tip: you can still use your own domain with a mailing service. Most services let you send from you@yourdomain.com after you add a few DNS records they give you.
Thank you for your feedback.
Sorry about that :( We'll work to make it better.
